Normalized Noise Tests
For these tests, I set the fan to speeds with noise output at the following predefined levels: 20/25/30/35/40/45 dBA. I skip the corresponding tests if the fan under the test cannot reach some noise levels. The speeds shown in the graph below are measured with the fan in a clear space inside my hemi-anechoic chamber without any obstacles. I set these speeds on the Longwin machine, but they slightly change because of the variable conditions that the device applies.
20 dBA Noise Output
- Low speed
- Top airflow
- Low static pressure
- Average power consumption
25 dBA Noise Output
- Low speed
- Top airflow
- Low static pressure
- Average power consumption
30 dBA Noise Output
- Low speed
- Top airflow
- Low static pressure
- Low power consumption

So I got some TL-C12W-S V3 fans (which I believe are more or less the same as the reviewed fans, except with and with aRGB) and 2 vertically mounted fans set as intake have very noticeable howling sound at above ~550 RPM. Could it be some weird resonance with cheap case (flimsy 0.6mm steel panel)? It’s the darkflash DPX90 case, I also got same 3 fans at the bottom as intake and they are running fine.
There is no way to tell for sure, I am afraid, without checking them.
The TL-C12C you mentioned in the end is a different, cheaper fan.
TL-C12C turns clockwise and turrns a little faster in max. Also they have other rubber pads.
TL-C12B turns counter clockwise.
The TL-C12B is available as ARGB variant TL-C12B-S V3 at Amazon as X3 Pack
for around 15€. Works very good on my Phantom Spirit EVO.
Hi juste to remind you about the NF-A14 industrialPPC 😅 and if you can ask Silverstone for review the new FHS 140X 😊
.
will do! As for Noctua, they don’t talk to me anymore. I asked for these fans already, they didn’t send them after the G2’s reviews.
